About

The name to remember is Courtney. I live in the somewhat-sunny Southern California and love every minute of it. I'm younger than 30 and older than 16. Although, every day, I seem to feel a little bit older or younger. My favorite TV show of all time is Gilmore Girls, my favorite movie is "The Wizard of Oz" and I love dogs, but I am more of a cat person. Enjoy the photos, quotes, articles, and other knick-knacks that I find intriguing below. Also, please note: that there will be some posts about my life lessons. I think it's always good to let things out. You never know, what mistakes, thoughts, lessons, or just plain interesting moments will teach someone else.

Last night my boyfriend and I made pizza.  I really didn’t want to go out and spend money (although I probably spent the same amount) and I just wanted to watch the Lakers game and have a beer.  (I’m such a man… or am I the best girlfriend ever?)
Anyways, my pizza tasted better, but his looked good.  When we were first dating, one of the first dates that we had was when I came over to his place and made dinner.  It was fun and something that I’ve never done with any other guy that I’ve been interested in.  While reflecting on some of our dates, my boyfriend (he will always be referred to as boyfriend, because, well, he’ll probably get mad at me.) said that that was his favorite one.  The one that he always brags about.  Now, boyfriend and I have been on plenty of dates.  We’ve done the whole dinner and a movie and the nice ones like going to places that we normally don’t go, and even dressing up and dining someplace fancy. But why is this date his favorite (and mine too)?  Simple.  That’s the word to describe it.  It was simple date.  Just getting to know each other over a nice meal and a glass of wine.  So, what’s one of my New Year’s resolutions (even though I can never keep them)?  Simple.  Make life simple and even have simple dates.

Can you identify a brand without a visible name or fully formed logo? Dutch designer Hendrik-Jan Grievink created a board game, aptly titled Brand Memory Game, that tests people’s ability to distinguish brands through visual association, in which the names are muted from the image. It’s surprising to realize how influential marketing tactics are, based on how easy it is to recognize brands.
